The Session was organised by the Union For Mediterranean (UfM), the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) Project Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector and the SWIM-H2020 SM Project during the 6th Beirut Water Week (27-29 March 2017).

It was the actual launching of the SWIM-H2020 SM Expert Facility activity, which promotes the Private Sector involvement in water infrastructure with emphasis on wastewater treatment plants.

The SWIM-H2020 SM Activity is to enable the banking sector to get involved in some critical themes for Lebanon such as the utilisation of non-conventional water resources in tourism, agriculture, industry and to improve procurement, tendering and management of wastewater treatment plants through the development of guidelines and training of staff in the sector with emphasis on water establishments.
